We Are Veterans Helping Veterans

The Veteran Legal Assistance Program partners with and supports several Veteran-focused causes and organizations. Through our work, VLAP is able to assist our Brothers and Sisters in uniform through connecting Veterans and their families to local programs that offer additional resources and services. Further, VLAP is dedicated to protecting the rights of America’s bravest through ongoing efforts to educate on the most important legal issues affecting Veterans in our community and beyond.

VLAP is here to amplify the voice of Veterans and their families and give them the support they need to ensure success through:

Advocacy and education
Legal workshops
• Charitable sponsorships

Veterans all over the world should know we’ve got their six.

Annual Veteran’s Day Food Truck Rally

Annual Veteran’s Day Food Truck Rally

Celebrating our Veterans by offering a meal on us is the least we can do. Our annual food truck rally has been around for three years and counting. Every event feeds hundreds of active duty soldiers and Veterans. We offer prize drawings, gift bags, games and a food truck option for all cravings.

Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association

Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association

We are proud to support the mission of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Chapter 23-7 in Austin through general donations and corporate sponsorship. By supporting the CVMA we have helped Veterans in the community directly by funding home renovations, assisting with housing and veteran support groups.

Semi-Annual Free Legal Clinics

Semi-Annual Free Legal Clinics

We honor and support our Veterans and their families through equal access to justice. Since 2011, Attorneys on our staff take their services to free legal clinics for Veterans. Our Attorneys provide free consultations to help Veterans, their spouses, widows or widowers get the legal representation they need for no or low cost, in an effort to lessen the burden for one of our communities most deserving but under-served segments.

Families In Crisis

Families in Crisis

A Fort Hood-based charitable organization near to our hearts, Families in Crisis is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting homelessness in the Killeen community. In 2009, the organization received funds through the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program. The program provides supportive services and rental assistance to Veterans, youth aging out of foster care and the general homeless and at-risk for homelessness populations.

Communities In School

Communities in School

Communities in Schools is a national nonprofit organization that aims to promote students staying in school and doing well. In Killeen, a large number of students involved in the program come from military families. Students from military families often need assistance adjusting to their new school or a shoulder to lean on when a parent is deployed. We support major fundraisers for Communities in Schools and the firm Chief Operating Officer serves on the board.
