VLAP Staff Attends Fort Worth NRA Expo

Veterans, Active Duty and Family Members Attending Fort Worth NRA Expo

KILLEEN, Texas — In addition to learning about the latest in personal protection, Veterans attending the National Rifle Association Personal Protection Expo Sept. 6-8 can learn a little more about their benefits and rights. The Veteran Legal Assistance Program (VLAP) Staff will be on-site to assist Veterans, Active Duty and Family Members attending the Fort Worth event.

Additionally, VLAP is bringing in a Representative with the North Texas Veterans Affairs Office to help answer questions specific to VA concerns. VA representatives will be able to provide information on benefits and help troubleshoot issues for Veterans who need additional assistance.

“Our goal is to educate and advocate for Veterans, Active Duty and Families members by connecting them to local programs and resources,” said VLAP Program Manager Alton Stuart. “A majority of the questions we receive deal with benefits the Veterans either do not know about or need assistance in connecting with. Further, Veterans and Family Members need to be made aware of their rights and what actions they can take to correct any matter which has adversely affected them during and after military service.”

VLAP representatives will be available beginning at 10 a.m. each day of the Expo at the Fort Worth Convention Center, Sept. 6-8.
